George Hruza, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and Director of the Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center in Chesterfield. A Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Dr. Hruza has been listed in St. Louis Magazine as one of the Top Doctors and Best Doctors in the St. Louis area for over 15 years.
He earned his medical degree from New York University at the top of his class and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Societies. He completed his dermatology residency at New York University Medical Center followed by a laser surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Wellman Laboratory for Photomedicine, as well as a Mohs and dermatologic surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, the American Board of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and the American Board of Laser Surgery.
A past President of both the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery and the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, Dr. Hruza currently serves as the President of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and as Treasurer of the Missouri State Medical Association. In addition to training a total of 21 Mohs surgery fellows, he has contributed more than 135 publications to the medical literature including two textbooks on laser surgery, has lectured extensively on four continents on lasers in dermatology, Mohs surgery, skin cancer, cosmetic surgery and dermatologic surgery, serves on numerous editorial boards and has held many leadership positions in a variety of medical organizations.
Dr. Hruza was elected to the inaugural Board of Managers for the St. Louis Physician Alliance in January 2014 and has been serving on the Board ever since. In addition, he is the Chairman of the SLPA Finance Committee.
